Focus Paper is pleased to announce we are now FSC (COC) accredited. An accreditation overseen by the Forest Stewardship Council, Chain of Custody (COC) accreditation seeks to promote sustainable forestry operations, and tracks accredited fibre from forest through to end user.
The Forest Stewardship Council is an international body which has established a set of standards to ensure that forests are managed in a sustainable manner, minimising impact on the local environment and ensuring timber products are available for generations to come. Timber from accredited forests can be sold into the market as FSC accredited. The framework of FSC (COC) accreditation ensures that this accredited timber remains separate from non certified product right through from manufacture to the end user. The FSC (COC) accreditation can be applied to almost any timber related final good.
In the print and paper industry all parties in the chain of custody must be accredited in order to continue the chain - forest, pulp and paper mill, merchant and printer. If all parties are accredited with FSC (COC) accreditation, the FSC (COC) logo can be printed on the final publication - a mark of the environmental responsibility of all parties involved.
Focus Paper currently stock two product ranges which carry FSC (COC) accreditation, Neo A2 Gloss & Satin and White Knight. By late 2008, we hope to offer this accreditation across many more of our product lines. For more information on FSC (COC) accreditation visit www.fsc.org.
